Quick post before I head out to work...been under the weather in the OTHER way..
Strong late season CF passes through the NE, then a sw dives in behind in a nicely dug trough. SW blows up a low..(a tad weak per the jet configuration and SW)...
Rain to snow in Central Appies...in to the DC/PHL area looks possible and a large event in the areas to the north. (NYC to RI to BOS)
Been hinted at in the models for a while..

Yep, Huff looks like it is coming together. Per King of Weathers posts and VaWx6 posts, it is going to be interesting for everyone from the Tenn Valley N and E with the upper plains getting a pretty good hit too. It is snowing in the TX Panhandle tonight. Can we say split flow again? Without having studied anything at all yet, if what I have seen posted verifies it appears to me we will have a split system which may take away some from the SE and maybe into your area as far as cold is concerned. However the progs for our area are for temps in the 30's Sunday night!!! Interesting situation for this late in the "winter" season!

Yes, winter is not over !!!!!!!!
Yes I'm always surprised each year at the end of February why so many insist that winter weather is over just because the first thaw has arrived........ not so ! Once again, winter can continue right through May. March was very cold the first 10 days up north ( many areas had the coldest start in over 50 years), then springlike since March 13. Now we have a return to cold and snow in many areas from Wyoming through the Northeast again. And this comes on the heels of a historic winter in many areas.
So it looks like an interesting late winter scenerio shaping up again. In fact, more outbreaks of polar air can be expected through April 10th, according to long range progs.
Enjoy the snow !!

Nice thoughts guys...
In a bigger sense March was a disapointment, but that is based on the great winter we had prior. The pattern could not hold forever, so it is faily typical.
Mods prog are a tad slower..but still show the threat. Interesting read this AM from the AKQ afd...about the snow being possible, but the mods have a cold bias. Cold bias yes, but even a curve would allow temps to be plenty cold. LOL

I still see a big drop in temps from Saturday To Sunday, we could get in the 80s here in virginia if we get enough sun, right know i say 70-78 on saturday, then sunday Highs in the 48-55 but that be in the morning i see temps falling into the 30s during the day sunday, and we could see rain changeing to snow, i see little chance of seeing any sticking becuse of the very warm day on saturday, right know i say 50/50 chance of snow on sunday.
The Severe Weather side on saturday, i say a good bet if we see a lot of sun, lower chance if we see less sun. Dameging Winds will be the main threat but iso. tornadoes and large hail is possible and also supercell storms are possible late saturday.
This is my view on this system right know.

System two coming together nicely...
For my neck of the woods...Central VA...Rain changes to snow tommorow AM. There is a window for 2-5 hours of moderate to heavy snow. Ground is incredibly warm, so big time limits to snow accums, but a 1-3 is possible on grassy and car surfaces.
The further north one travels, system comes later along with nitefall and colder ground, and additional 2-3 COULD be tacked one.
With the late season, incredibltny strong JET, (150knts)...This will have to watched closely for surprises!
