Whew, what an active night last night. Damage crews will be out today surveying the damage over quite an extensive area.

Today's threat is less dramatic than yesterday, but still looks to cover a wide area. Look for a general severe weather threat from far NE New Mexico to the Delmarva Peninsula, bouded approximately on the north by I-70 and on the south by I-40.

Two areas in this larger one have an increased risk.

1) The area around Washington, DC down into Southeastern Virginia stands a good chance and seeing some severe weather here today. Watch out for damaging winds and some hail.

2) An area from SC KS and NC OK into SC Illinois also looks to see some big hail today. In addition, at the intersection of any two thunderstorm boundaries that a storm can get rooted, a tornado threat also exists.
