I was doubting the svr. wx. threat down in my area... here is the latest... this is taken from the latest AFD from SGF...
SHORT TERM (THIS AFTERNOON)...
AN EXPLOSIVE AFTERNOON IS ON TAP FOR AREAS OF NORTHERN KANSAS AND
MISSOURI. A HIGH RISK FOR LARGE AND DESTRUCTIVE TORNADOES EXISTS
ALONG A WARM FRONT THAT EXTENDS ROUGHLY ALONG INTERSTATE 70.
ULTIMATELY THIS IS TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT FOR AREAS OF EXTREME
SOUTHEAST KANSAS AND THE MISSOURI OZARKS. A CLOSE WATCH ON NEAR
STORM ENVIRONMENT AND CONVECTIVE TRENDS WILL BE NEEDED THIS
AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING. EMERGENCY MANAGERS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT
OFFICIALS SHOULD ALSO MONITOR LATER STATEMENTS AND FORECASTS FROM
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

Take care and be safe, Garrett, Beam and other Missourians!

Not sure about the eastern part of MO...but I have some cousins who live in O' Fallon ('burb of St. Louis)...

Yeah, that cap in SE Kansas and SW Missouri wasn't supposed to break. But alas, it's in the process of breaking right now.

The convective outlooks don't have you placed in the much of a risk, but if I were you, I'd go ahead and consider your area to be under a moderate to high risk, because I'm going to be genuinely surprised if your area doesn't get some of this. Be careful.
