Aslkahuna does this mean that the MJO may influence your monsoon later in the season and that is the only good indicator of more rain for you this year?

One Problem

with the monsoon is that despite over 100 years of study we still don't know enough to be able to find all of the factors that can affect the rainfall (the same can be said for the larger scale Asian Monsoons). I've tried to apply what factors I have noted over the years that I spent forecasting here but I'm sure that I've missed some. One problem with the monsoon is the factors which enhance monsoonal rainfall are very frequently factors that suppress winter rainfall and snowfall thus it is rare to get both a good monsoon and a good winter. OTOH it is possible to get both of them bad such as happened in 2001 and 2002.
