Your right Steve and here I thought we were gonna escape the brutal "Winds of Spring" this year

(you should know better Dennis!) Please note the last sentence, this is what I was afraid of, no matter HOW much moisture we receive, these winds are vicious and the fire danger increases 100 fold in the matter of days. And they call Chicago the "Windy City!" Shoot....Chicago ain't got nuthin' on us
AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FLAGSTAFF AZ
230 AM MST WED APR 14 2004
.SYNOPSIS...A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL DEVELOP ALONG THE WEST COAST
OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. THIS WILL BRING BREEZY TO WINDY CONDITIONS
TO THE STATE EACH AFTERNOON THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK ALONG WITH
A SLIGHT COOLING TREND. THE LOW PRESSURE AREA WILL APPROACH THE
REGION BY THE WEEKEND...BRINGING A STRONGER COOLING TREND...WINDIER
CONDITIONS...AND A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS.
&&
.DISCUSSION...LOOKING AT A BREEZY TO WINDY PATTERN FOR THE REST OF
THE WEEK. THE UPPER LEVEL RIDGE HAS MOVED EAST OF THE STATE AND WILL
BE REPLACED BY BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE TO THE WEST. AS THIS LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM DEVELOPS AND MOVES DOWN THE WEST COAST ANTICIPATE AN
INCREASE IN PRESSURE GRADIENTS AND SW FLOW ACROSS THE STATE. WIND
SPEEDS TODAY WILL REMAIN BELOW ADVISORY CRITERIA BUT MAY REACH
CRITERIA ON FRIDAY. WINDS AND RH WILL BE MONITORED CLOSELY FOR FIRE
WX ISSUES.
