Middle Atlantic/Northeast Flooding Concerns

Rain overspread much of the Middle Atlantic and the southern Northeast today, and it became heavy earlier this afternoon and is continuing into this evening. With this expected rainfall we are receiving now, plus the heavy rain that we are supposed to receive tomorrow, flooding may become a pretty serious concern. The ground is pretty saturated after this rainfall, and with another 1-2" coming, things may get pretty nasty.

I already have reports of ponding on roadways...will check area streams tomorrow if I have a chance. Also the potential of embedded thunderstorms w/ downpours only aids in the potential of flooding.

Thoughts anyone?

But in all seriousness i think there will be flood warnings posted tommorrow night for sure. As we could see an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain ontop of almost nearly 2 inches today.

I had a 24 hr rain total of 1.10 ending at 0700 today 04/13. A monsoon just came though here at work in exteme lower bucks county.

The low pressure is moving ever so slowly, and the rain will linger into Southern New England into Thursday. There very well could and should eb some flood watches posted during the day tomorrow if there is ponding on the roadways.

A Monsoon? Dude arent you into the weather?

a Monsoon is not torential rains or heavy rain. A Monsoon is a Seasonal Directional change in the winds more assosated wiht the South west and india. Doesnt mean Rain. Rain can come on the heals of a monsoon with moister picked up.
