Severe thunderstorms have cropped up this afternoon and tonight ... earlier this afternoon, one severe cell produced golf-ball sized hail in Aiken, SC ... currently, a severe thunderstorm remains in effect for my area and the storms have a history of producing dime-size hail and gusty winds.

Very heavy rains, and some gusty winds are currently occurring with frequent CG lightning. The last 6 weeks have been excruciatingly dry, and at least, a silver lining as these storms are recharging the ground moisture, albeit, scattered in nature.

Current radar imagery indicate that the severe thunderstorm is now splitting ... with one piece of energy moving east across my region now, and the other piece continuing southeast towards North Charleston and Charleston.
