severe thunderstorm watch

THE SPC in Norman, Oklahoma has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the following areas....

NORTHEAST ARKANSAS
MISSOURI BOOTHEEL
WESTERN AND MIDDLE TENNESSEE

EFFECTIVE THIS SATURDAY MORNING AND EVENING FROM 1150 AM UNTIL 600
PM CST.

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 60
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 55 STATUTE MILES
NORTH AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 40 MILES SOUTHWEST OF JONESBORO
ARKANSAS TO 10 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF CROSSVILLE TENNESSEE.

REMEMBER...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE
FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA.
PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING
WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE
WARNINGS. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE
TORNADOES.




DISCUSSION...AN INCREASINGLY FOCUSED LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL SAG
SEWD ACROSS KY/SERN MO INTO NERN AR AND MUCH OF TN OVER THE NEXT FEW
HOURS. LARGE HAIL WILL ACCOMPANY THE STRONGEST ACTIVITY...ALONG
WITH ISOLATED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS.

That line is just west of me - no lightning, yet.
Nashville is getting slammed, though!

Watch that secondary line in W KY too! That's part of a bigger line from north of Cincinnati, down thru Louisville, Paducah and into N AR, associated with the front.

Thanks, Jeremy! That first line broke up, before
it got here. I see another line moving down from
Clarksville. But, is that another line around
Paducah, KY? It looks like two more lines, on radar.

(*note - I have an appointment at the eye doc's,
on Monday.) ;)
