WHEW!

As I ranted last night, there was *NO* tornado in Gates County, NC.

I feel good about this for 2 reasons:
1. There was NO indication of a TOR on RADAR at anytime.
2. I walked the plank in saying I doubted a visual submitted by local
law enforcement.

Apparently, Wakefield felt the same as the TOR only stated an obs from local cops stated a tornado was on the ground. The MUST go with a TOR unless they think the obs is loopy. While there was a weak MESO signature INVOF the report, they had no choice. I immediately stated this was suspect. Moral of the story is Radar is not perfect, but it's darn good and sometimes people "see" things on the ground that ain't there. It seems the obs was submitted by someone who saw straight line damage and assumed it was tornadic.
