Looking Active Today into tomorrow for the southern US with severe weather potentially affecting areas from se TX to Se VA.

Todays Focus will be se TX, LA, MS, and AL later on.Threats looks to be Damaging winds and Large Hail And Closer to the Coastal areas chances increase dramatically for Isolated Tornadoes as a good flux of Gulf Moisture and higher dew points comes rushing in ahead of a strong coldfront moving east thru the south creating a better enviroment for Super Cells and Isolated Tornadoes especially for areas close to i20 and south to the coast. SBCapes look to be 1000-1500J/KG. Expect a line of possibly severe storms early and then more of a threat for super cell storms with the isolated Tornadoes later on today into this evening. Everything will shift east tonight and tomorrow towards the Atlantic coast from se VA to Central FL which is circled in on the map below so check back in for updates on this.

IMO i think we will see a few Tornadoes Today into Tomorrow. So stay safe and have fun chasing if thats your intention today! Remember to share your stories and pics with us if you happen to catch a Tornado!

Looks pretty much like I am out of luck with this system. Lots of build up with little results. Had one round of heavy showers around 2:30 and nothing to speak of since then. Think this will end up being a LA event as opposed to SE Texas chaser. This is the second consecutive time where not only has the timing been WAY off, but also the area of severe weather. Bummer. Gonna have to start honking again since my twister dance doesn't work!

edit: I had to open my mouth. Getting drowned like a wet rat now, rain coming down in sheets, lightning, thunder. Looks to be a hook running well out to my west. Radar seems also to show I'm in line to be hit with something----better late than never.

Well in my opinion this forecast was a bust. We had one bad round yesterday evening around 5 p.m. - rain over an inch - then now we are getting some strong rains - thunder and lightning. Just got an advisory that the flood watch has been cancelled and the rains will be over with by early afternoon - so much for excitement LOL. What else is new :-0
