Well looks like a buisy next day or two in the south as we will have a developing in the southern Plains and scooting eastward to the TN valley and off the SE coast. This system will bring a ton of rain and as well some possible severe weather along the gulfcoast states from TX eastward.

The best chance for severe weather looks to be late tonight and more so tomorrow from Se TX across into LA/MS/AL and the FL panhandle. Soundings in se TX suggest capes of 1500 or greater and surface dew points exceeding 60 out ahead of a mid level dry slot moving in from central TX as the upper trough axis passes thru the area bringing the potential for supercell activity with the main threat beeing in Se TX for large hail and damaging winds and then growing stronger and progressing eastward bringing the chance of a few Tornadoes as well into Southern LA and southern AL and eventually southern GA and northern FL Late Sat nite and into Sunday as everything progresses east.

Alot of the south as i mentioned already will also be dealing with the threat for flooding from central TX east into the TN valley and the gulfcoast states where some places could see up to 7 inches of rain before all is said and done. Farther to the nw some may see there precip go from rain to a mix of Rain/ Sleet and or snow with some accumulation expected.

Maybe nextweek Captin...........Have what looks to be a couple of possible shots at some wintry weather around you area in the next week or two perhaps........Just gotta deal with all the rain thru sunday first.

well i think eb can vouch for that possible flooding. Her street is flooded.

Well, what I'm watching now is how this cold frontal passage plays out. Our dew points are WAY up there, and I'm seeing some breaks in the clouds which could give way to some daytime heating. IF all of that happens, I could be having a FUN TIME this afternoon. Truck is gassed up, camera is loaded, hubby is grumpy. It COULD, and I emphasize COULD be a rather interesting day for us here in SE Texas. We'll see. Lord knows my nose will be glued to the radar!

Mine too Eb - while I'm cleaning house and cooking. I don't know about chasing - wish you lived closer to the East side so we could get together. Keep me updated - you know the number if you see anything ....

Not seeing much on the radar yet except down around NASA area and it is moving towards Ticka. Looks like light coverage is increasing in our area and I may be crazy but I think we have a low developing right over us or just to our NE. EB I'll be checking back preiodically this afternoon. We got 1.79" last night, but areas W and N of us got like 3"-4" and it is obvious when you go out to Bear Creek Park because it is flooded in areas(for those of you that don't know Houston it is on the West side of the city and is part of a huge flood detention area on the West side of the city).

David, the forecast keeps flipping back and forth. This morning we were down to 30% rain, now we're back at 50% I think with mention of hail. Honestly think most of the good action will be to our east (sucks), but you know I'm not gonna give up hope. Hubby was laughing at me this morning since we just got the new roof on last week and I'm wanting severe weather. I'll keep my eyes peeled and let you know if I see anything worthwhile.

We got a lot more rain today to add to what came through overnight. Today's storms were actually better than the ones overnight. Lots of thunder and lightning! Miraculously, I didn't lose power! Maybe Entergy took my threats seriously this last time.

A lot of street flooding and my normal heavy rain lake is in my front yard and the ditch behind my fence in the backyard that is usually empty is a mini raging river. lol It feeds into the creek here...which is part of Pine Island Bayou. The creek is very high (out of its banks but not over the road) and I'm sure the river flood warnings for Pine Island Bayou will be coming shortly.

I got just over 4 1/2 inches in the rain gauge at my house.
Oh, and I was right about the river flood warning for Pine Island Bayou....should crest by Monday.
