My summer forecast

#1 Postby northweststormchaser » Sat Mar 08, 2003 4:45 am

:D  :jump: :1: :30:

My thinking is that the the northern plains and around the great lakes will start out a little colder then normal intill some of that ice melts off the lakes. Some with upstate new york in areas like that. The northern part of the plains will be 2 degrees cooler becauser the first half of may into june. Then these areas might be about normal. The southeast normal summer maybe a little more cool breezes in the summer because of the cooler in normal air to the north. But about normal with temperatures with normal rainfall best month for a killer heat wave mid August. Southwestern united states are still a little below normal in rainfall and snowfall in some areas but near the coast some areas have more then enought in a few mountains are looking good. I call for a few amount of monsoon moister in june, july into august then with hot tempertures in july into august. It might turn out dryer then normal because of the strong four corners hight that will likey set up. The northwestern united states will Be a lttle low on snow pack but we have caught up good this week so march normal rainfall normal temperatures. April will be 2 degrees above normal with below normal rainfall. More on the northwest latter.

Its very possible....guess we'll be tuning into this upcoming spring a little more closely, especially with the winter we've had....might be flooding and ice jams...could get ugly in my area!

Hope that snow does not melt to fast.

No doubt...seems like when we have a big snow year, especially in the elevations where I am, we get a nice warm up alongside a massive rain event or 2....I'm hoping that it is gradual.
