A BAND OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM CEDAR KEY
SOUTHWEST INTO THE GULF FOR 100 MILES...WILL RAPIDLY MOVE ONSHORE
THE COASTAL COUNTIES FROM LEVY SOUTH TO NORTHERN HILLSBOROUGH. WITH A
MOVEMENT OF OVER 50 MPH TOWARD THE NORTHEAST...THESE SHOWERS AND
STORMS ARE LIKELY TO PRODUCE GUSTY WINDS IN EXCESS OF 40 MPH AS
THEY MOVE ONSHORE. A PERIOD OF HEAVY RAIN AND OCCASIONAL LIGHTNING
WILL ACCOMPANY THIS ACTIVITY...BUT THE PRIMARY THREAT WILL BE
WINDS. MOVEMENT WAS TOWARD THE NORTHEAST AT 55 MPH.

Those are when storms are most dangerous. When they move that fast. I have always been told when they move that fast they may have rotation.. even a tornadic signature.

Tornadic signatures (Or TVS's which stands for Tornadic Vortex Signature)ONLY come when the storm is rotating regardless of how fast the movement is. EVen without rotation within the storm, the forward velocity of 55 mph in itself can produce wind damage (momentum of the storm bringing down winds from aloft down to the surface in the form of straight-line winds).

Thank you Storms. You're right, It would have to show rotation..
