Latest RUC precip type indicates mixed precip may flirt with

The Coastal Counties of South and North Carolina ...

Latest RUC precip type run indicates that mixed precip may just make it close enough to the coast ... I'm not so sure about this ... but it's worth posting anyway ...

Well it's just knocking on the door - frz rain and mixed precip just north of my area ... temperature has steadily fallen during the night and it's down to 34 ... light rain/drizzle ...

Well some frz drizzle did occur this morning at 32 degrees, but CHS only made down to 34...barely a trace ...

However, Columbia wasn't so lucky ... freezing rain caused power outages, numerous traffic accidents, and as Colasnow put it, not one Meteorologist in the CAE or TV area saw it coming.
