It's 12 days out but I thought it would be worth posting ... because I've never seen what this map is indicating.

So what is the chance this map will hold up? If it does, it could be quite an interesting picture for the south! :D

Obviously, no one else has ever seen a forecast map that indicates snow into the Gulf of Mexico!...*LOL* ....neither have I...

We all know this will change, but for SE TX, LA, MS, AL, GA, and SC....I route it on all the way ... and if we can have that one snowstorm, it would make this a perfect winter.

I agree with you 100% Stormsfury! If we can just get one good snowstorm at the end of the month, it will make up for all of the other times it missed us!! :turn-l:

That's all we want before 2003 winter season is over with .... one GOOD SNOWSTORM ...

*raises glass* - Here's to hoping for the big snowstorm! *drink up*

There's no way that'll verify! I dont know about the zero lines being that far south, but if it DOES...I'll buy everyone here a filet mignon dinner! Lets see what the last week in Feb holds for us!

How often does a map that far out verify? Is that a better map than most for long range predictions? I think I would have to pinch myself if it holds up for another week!

Unfortunately ... no ... but I could imagine maybe the map looking something like that in the 1895 Houston/Galveston snowstorm...

Just very interesting ...

We will have to wait and see!

I think with all the crazy weather this weekend, most people probably ignored the long range models. Hopefully the cold air can make another comeback since the gulf is definitely back in the picture!

It looks a lot like the maps did 3 weeks ago with the last Arctic surge to come our way in TX. The BIG difference is this one has a Snow Cane along with the cold air. Now if we can just get that timing right!!! :D

I know it will change at least 3 or 4 times before we get there, but it is the stuff DREAMS are made of for us deep Southerners!!! :multi:
