It is getting very dry here, and it appears no relief in sight. Last year it was getting dry through here and got drenched from Isidore, I really hope we can get some system to come up through the gulf (just a TD or TS) and give some relief to folks around here.

I know how you feel! Up until yesterday, we weren't doing so hot! We got 1.5"+ yesterday, which helped, but we are still in a defecit! At least the plants got some water though! And now, after that rain, there are calling for one chance in the next 10 days!

I looked around at the GFS, and it doesn't paint a drop of rain over my area until 276 hours out, and that looks like from a tropical wave or something.

Oh gawd, we would love to send you some of the precip. we have received in the last 10 months, down there. T.S. Henri (actually the low pressure with was left of him) dumped more rain on us yesterday (Sat.). Don't know how we are blessed :grr: so, and you folks aren't getting hardly anything. Just weather, right?

Local Met here said don't expect ANY rain during the rest of September, models also show ZERO precip here until 372 hours out. Looks like we'll be entering a short-term drought here.

It always seems like, August or September,
somebody just turns off the faucet! We've got
a "chance" of thundershowers, on Friday, but,
like you said, no soakers in sight.

We don't even have that chance of showers, no moisture left here at all. DP here is below 50°!

Yep - we're harnessing those waterhoses for the
next few weeks, I suspect!

LOL!! I bet your local met is feeling a bit stupid for saying that now! We had some flooding here today, and all of AL had the same weather yesterday as well. Looks like someone may have to find a new job over there!

He also said Isabel would turn out to see, and that TD-14 (when it first formed) would hold more of a threat to US than Isabel.....I don't normally listen to him much anyhow. He's a good met, best during severe weather....but his forecasts are a little off.

Local mets are usually better at predicting severe weather, and winter weather than anything else. Last year, TWC had us getting snow showers countless times, and then they would change it last minute. I don't think they are too reliable for anything over two days!

One slight problem, I forgot to mention he can't forecast snow either! (which who can in this part of the country?)

Good point! That is why I come here!!

Hey, BKhusky, I will send you some of what we got. In the past couple of weeks, we have gotten over 4 inches of rain. I just moved out here, but in the winter time, this could have been from 2-4 feet, depending on the water/snow ratio.
