I only see one in the 60s on the list. That really is insane. This system truly was a weather lover's dream come true! Longest list and most prominent for 2013?

Hey cycle.. for Central Park New York specifically, the 71F ( 22C) on Sunday broke the previous Dec 22 record which was 63F set in 1998! So it broke the record by 8 degrees, quite amazing! It was the warmest it has ever been in Central Park NY beyond Dec 7 in any year, records dating back to 1871! It was only the 9th time on record that the temperature has even been in the 70s during December.

Regarding Jacksonville FL, this has been quite the December to remember
The December all time record high of 84F has been set twice so far this month.
I miscalculated, it has actually been 84F 10 times in total during December, inclusive of Sunday. Record data also goes all the way back to 1871.

It has been crazy warm here in Jax for most of this month. It certainly is one of the warmest Decembers I can ever remember here that is for sure. As I mentioned above on this page yesterday, we have either tied or set new record high temperatures on 6 total days this month, along with reaching 3 times our highest recorded temperature ever for December of 84 degrees as just mentioned. I am ready for some cold. Hopefully a +PNA or at least a slightly negative AO will develop in January to bring us some cool air.
