What say you all? We do this every year. I am going with climo and say September 28.

Last year, I think we argued over what constituted the first real front.

I vote September 25th.
For me a "fall front" would be one that sends temperatures into the 70s for highs and 50s for lows to the population centers of Texas without the assistance of rain and a constant northerly component to the winds.

In our annual "first cold front" contest, we define the first cold front (in Houston) as one which drops the dew point to 49F or lower at 12Z at IAH. I picked October 2nd. That doesn't preclude a weaker front arriving around a week or so before then.

I will say September 29 with the caveat
that the low temperature must go below 63f.
Almost made it. Official low this am was 63f.
