Got home yesterday from work - had a brownie troop meeting and it was in the high 70's - very warm. Got up this morning and it was 41 degrees. I think the cool weather is making a return appearance to Houston. Its going to be beautiful today - but then cold and raining and dreary until Sunday.

Post your temps here!

So I lied!!!  They are really only medium range models I'm looking at now anyway!! Of course there is still time for the models to flip-flop again. :?

Models are showing an interesting time for the Deep South from W. Texas all the way along the Gulf Coast to the FL Big Bend area from Thursday through Sunday. I'm not sure how much of it will verify if any, but it appears we are in for a minimum of a long bout of VERY COLD RAIN!

Yes, Several of the models are at least putting the entire Gulf Coast on the edge of possible frozen precipitation, mostly as a mix, but with some bouts of all snow in TX at least. Once again the upper air temps appear to be supporting the liklihood of a frozen precip event while the surface temps will be iffy or touch and go. If they are cold enough to make it happen it will be more iffy the further East one goes from TX/LA/MS. I really haven't looked past Sunday inany depth at this point so I don't want to speak towards East Coast chances of snow, but a preliminary look would support it into SC when the system gets further East as frigid Arctic air will at least be in place in the NE already with Fl not escaping the cold(but maybe not Arctic). Zero line at 850mb level does go all the way to the N GOM coast during this time period

BTW, we never did get any of those "snow" tickets here in Houston last round!! What's going on?? Is someone withholding?? :grr:

A blizzard here?

Hmmm....sounds like a fairy tale. I'll believe it when I see it.

Hey, we did have a blizzard here around the turn of the century...yes, a real blizzard. If it happened once, it could happen again.
