Hello All

Mad storm chaser from the UK here! Been chasing in the USA three times - last time was May this year. Anyone from Boliva Missouri? I ended up in a tornado shelter there around the 7/8th May - very scarey indeed! Anyway, thought I better introduce meself!!!

glad to have you aboard! You picked quite the
time, back in May, to be stormchasing in the
mid-west! The first week or two of May, I do
believe, my weather radio went off every night
with a tornado warning, closeby! Made the
adrenaline surge, indeed!

Thanks for the very warm welcome Breeze - where do I start however!!!! 2 hours after arriving at Forth Worth, TX it all started. Supercell near Archer City, the exact same place I saw twin tornadoes in 2000. Anyway, this particular storm dies before we saw anything, nice inflow winds etc but nothing tornadic that we could see but it was a good start!!

but in my home town here in the UK we have had 4/5 tornadoes/ FC's in the last 3 years, all in the local papers etc so I must be quite lucky!! Nothing beats the storms in the alley though.

Wow, that's great about your landing and
jumping right in on the excitement! The
storms out west in the Alley are certainly
better to watch than here. We have too many
hills and trees and such to block one's view.
That makes me a "backyard" spotter"...

Welcome to the boards ChaserUK, the recent tornado we had here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area (If there is one) happened on Saturday Night April 5th. Tornado sirens kicked on a few minutes after my WX radio squaked at me and after that, golf-ball size hail fell. Luckily there was very little damage.
