A longtime friend living in NO (Garden District) received hail this evening. She didn't say how large though. Now up in St. Landry parish, the town of Leonville received 1-1.25" hail.

Lots of hail reports coming in from the New Orleans area on this Tuesday night, March 29th.

I was very vocal about this subject while it was occuring on another forum board, where I'm much more prevalent in -- (because it contains people indigenous to my region of Southeast Louisiana, and this forum board is mostly Texas & Florida people).

Anyways, I believe even MORE worse weather, with flooding rain & severe weather is still yet to come for the New Orleans area and Southeast Louisiana region much later tonight and in the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday morning. A new watch I expect to be issued much later tonight, with a goodly number of attendant warnings to go along with that watch.

Flooding rain, damaging HAIL, numerous vivid lightning strikes, and to a lesser extent tornadoes are all on the playbill for very late tonight in the New Orleans & Southeast Louisiana region.

This 1st round we had earlier this evening wasn't supposed to happen this far EAST. It was supposed to occur over South-Central & Southwest Louisiana. Initially, it did form over South-Central Louisiana around 330 PM today, but the severity of these supercells, meant they were right-movers and moved EAST in to the River Parishes and then a mini-MCS consolidated from the small cluster over the River parishes & headed straight in to New Orleans, way ahead of schedule.

However, I don't think that will be all. I am expecting round 2 to commence well after Midnight tonight in SE LA, and carry in to the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday morning, March 30th.

I placed a NEW weather writing on to my website around 530 PM, about 20 minutes before the rain entered in to New Orleans.

That writing was made around 530 PM on Tuesday, March 29th for the New Orleans area.
