CM, the center of the fire is away from me as of right now. The center of the wildfire is west of intercoastal waterway, and I live east of the
intercoastal waterway.

I got a update on the smoke. The winds are pulling the smoke up north now.

grentz, how are you doing? Is your area still safe? I just saw the fires on Fox News and thought about you. Police were banging on doors in the middle of the night, telling residents to leave. I heard one guy say that he barely got his family out before their house went up in flames, and said he didn't have time to go back in for their dog.

I hope the dog just took off running and they'll get him back later.

Hey, SG, I'm doing okay. The wildfire went north, is now west of North Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach is spared from the wildfire. I did saw
smoke from the wildfire at my house on Thursday morning, but in the afternoon, the smoke went north

Please pray that the firefighters can keep the fires contained somewhat today. They're predicting that the fire will spread north from a strong seabreeze today. I couldn't see 50 feet in front of me driving to Myrtle Beach this morning from Redbluff/Loris area because of the smoke that settled west last night. A 15 minute drive to work took me 2 1/2 hours yesterday because the main roads that I take are still closed. There is more than one fire that's burning in the area. The main fire that started it all is off of Hwy 90, and the Barefoot Resort/Grand Dunes fire broke off from the Hwy 90 fire and spread to North Myrtle Beach. The Hwy 90 fire is not but 40% contained as of this morning. If you would like to hear live time from the Horry County Fire Department and Myrtle Beach Fire Dept, you can go here and listen to their scanners. That's how I've been getting most of my updates - straight from the fireline.
