I think I saw a wall cloud today.

I don't live in Oklahoma, either. Just before reaching I-45 Northbound on I-10, to the North, could not see base of very dark cloud, and when I turned North onto I-45, it looked to me like a wall cloud. Dark, much lower than the rest of the cloud, tuned to KTRK 740 in time for a tornado warning.

Scud moving below cloud quickly, but no obvious funnel, and while I couldn't just stare, driving slowly in jammed traffic on I-45, I detected no signs of rotation. But cool and frequent cloud to ground lightning from lowered cloud base. Beyond cloud base, before reaching garish "Gallery Furniture", impressively heavy rain.

Couple of pwer flickers at the house an hour later. Oldest son, 7 years old, smart but with PDD-NOS, noted flickering lights similar to pre-blackout flickers during Ike. Made him nervous.

Good soaking rain for lawn.

Did not see a funnel cloud (have seen water spouts in Gulf before, but have never seen a real Plains tornado) but pretty sure I have seen a wall cloud, up close and personal. And there was a radar indicated tornado, which means even if there wasn't an actual tornado, there was radar detected rotation.

There was a very obvious hook echo on the radar. I am quite surprised that no funnel or tornado was reported.
