I've been following the NAFD for the past 3 days, the models have a low pressure system moving in from the east Is this a little unusual or what??

OVER THE NEXT TWO DAYS THE HI PRESSURE CENTER THAT HAS BEEN OVER THE
STATE THE LAST FEW DAYS WILL MIGRATE INTO THE UPPER MID WEST. THE
AIRMASS OVER THE CWA WILL REMAIN MOIST WITH PW'S NEAR AN INCH. THE
GREATEST INSTABILITY IS PROGGED FOR AREAS FROM THE RIM EASTWARD. FLOW
ALOFT IS LIGHT AND STORMS WILL BE SLOW MOVERS AND HEAVY PRECIPERS.
HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE STATE WILL WEAKEN BY THURSDAY AS A LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT ORIGINATED OVER THE OHIO VALLEY BACKS INTO THE
DESERT SW. MODELS HAVE BEEN CONSISTENT WITH THIS FEATURE AND ITS
TRACK THE LAST FEW RUNS. THE LOW DIPS INTO N MEX ON THURSDAY AND
THEN IS PROGGED TO MOVE NORTH ALONG THE AZ/NM BORDER FRI/SAT

During the summer time, it's a little more common because some weather systems to move west around the southern base of high pressure domes. However, this event is IMO, a bit unusual. The ULL had its origins starting from around the base of the persistent East Coast trough which finally cutoff from the main flow. It moved from the Southeast back up into the Ohio Valley. As the Bermuda high retrogrades westward and merges with another high in its wake (coming into the Great Lakes), this is forcing the upper low SW towards TX. The mean flow around the large scale high pressure dome will continue to move the upper low westward.
