Based on sat, the best low level convergence is well east of DFW and the lift associated with the front is meager at best. This might be the biggest bust I've ever seen. Every model for nearly a week now was showing significant rainfall across the DFW area with this system.

That area eventually blew up into the Canton, TX tornado...

Elevated cells now over DFW this evening, so some areas picking up some rain.

The late blowup of storms in Grayson County this evening has brought 0.51 inches of rain so far at North Texas Regional Airport and 0.72 inches at the Austin College Weather Station West of Sherman.

Also, 4.18 inches for the month of April at the AC Weather Station.

And more storms are currently rolling through Grayson County.

This is passing north of me, but I have family in it's path. Sounds like there has been some major damage and many injuries just 25 miles west of me.

We had a burst of .5"rain in a couple mins and another burst is ongoing now. Surprisingly no hail as of yet here. So far my favorite family had said all is good though they are still in the core of it in northern Smith Co.

Going through damage pictures and video, the ripped trees, and heavy damage looks reminsicent of a high end EF3 or EF4. Chaser video seems like at some points half mile or wider. Just devastating..

State high of 103F in Alice, Texas
Extensive tornado damage near Canton-Emory line

DFW had a high today of 91F and is now 58F

Cool downdraft occured, that ends any hope for rain with this system here. I hate to be right when it comes to not expecting rain but I was right. I don't put a lot of stock in models, however I tend to follow short range models like HRRR, Nam 3K and WRF a little more than the GFS. They aren't 100% but they tend to get the general outcome of the evolution of storms give or take location placement and timing. Given how the cap has been holding this month longer than what the GFS has been showing and where the dryline was and spotty storm initiation coupled with my gut feeling, I saw this outcome a couple of days ago.

It was so close though rain just a couple of miles west and a couple of miles to the east.

Yeah, a storm popped up with marble and pea sized hail in Georgetown, confirmed by a friend on FB. Nothing at Dart Bowl or house except sprinkles. Felt great going outside after bowling at 8:15ish! Very windy now that front has blown through. 65 and dropping.
