Rain is trying to form east of Houston, but has been really struggling so far. I feel like since the rest of the state has been getting rain, it will only be a matter of time before my area joins the fun. Right now, there are just a bunch of cracks in the ground in normally wet areas. At least the grass is still growing and green.

Doesn’t look like much for our part of the state anytime soon. Looks like central Texas and north Texas will see most of the action over the next couple weeks but of course that can always change. I definitely don’t need any rain but I know you could use some.

Yeah I'm not very inclined to believe the models that far out. If the models were right, I should be near normal on rainfall right now. If they're not showing rain, I am not going to believe that either. They often get stuck on overextending weather patterns when they don't last nearly as long in reality. I would not be surprised if there is a storm system at the end of next week.

I’m seeing a chance for southeast TX now on Saturday. It’s not much of a chance though but yeah next week looks a bit intriguing. CPC forecast today was encouraging.

Yeah. Next week is really starting to look better on the Euro. 12z not out yet, but last night's run looks like multiple rain chances most of next week. Has my area getting over 3 inches over the next 10 days. I will believe it when I see it. However, somehow I do believe the trend will continue to be wetter for next week after this week being mostly dry.

Well my background check cleared this afternoon and I have a start date penciled in on June 7th! I will be moving to Wichita on June 1st but my family and I are going to spend some time in DFW and see family. I will be leaving Miami this Saturday though, I'll be with my parents in Louisiana for a few weeks. Weather wise Miami was a bust, it's been abnormally dry and I haven't gotten the thunder storms I wanted. The dry season wasn't very fun either. It would be an understatement to say that I'm excited though!

Great news. Can’t imagine many places being as wild as Wichita, in terms of weather. Sounds like fun.

Congrats! Hopefully you will get to track interesting and active weather.

By the way, don't feel too bad about being abnormally dry and not getting the thunderstorms you wanted. You are not alone. Apparently, I need to discuss my dry frustrations with my Floridian neighbors. :D
