Over 16" in Bertram and it's still raining; numerous 24 hour totals over a foot all along the north side of Lake Travis which is currently rising at about 1 foot/hr.

A very sad situation ongoing right now. This is a classic warm core "core rains" setup. The Hill Country has a history of these kind of events but its been a while since this last occurred. Flash Flood Alley indeed.

Unfortunately as I've stated before on here, down across this region our droughts often end with events like this. Too much of a good thing in such a short period of time and in most cases, it's a result of tropical influence. Despite our drought, this area is known as Flash Flood Alley for a reason.

What's worse is it's occuring over a holiday weekend and my heart breaks for these areas/communities and the people/families personally impacted.

Above all folks if you live within this region and are currently under the Flash Flood Watch please stay weather aware today.

Just eyeballing the radar, seems maybe the center of the circulation has moved up to south of Killeen. And I think out west, the San Saba/Colorado river *may* have just crested; all of that will be coming down river over the next several days. My prediction of Lake Travis up 10'-20' may be short.
And it's dumping on north Austin again. This will all run downstream.

Yeah but for whatever reason LCRA continues to slow roll their lake level forecasts. "Lake Travis is expected to rise within a range of 651 to 652 ft msl over the next several days." They said similar yesterday, when it was 12 feet lower.

No words... Over 20 inches and still falling. The "core rains" are starting to reinvigorate over the same area. These are historical rainfall totals. 25+ inches is looking possible if not likely.

Yep. I checked the radar about an hour ago and it looked like the rain over central ATX would end, but nope. Center of rotation appears to be on an axis from Round Rock to Bryan.

Also, looks like new storms firing over Fredericksburg and more north toward Brownwood. Just incredible.

Is there a website for the rivers and watershed to the east of the LCRA coverage? LCRA has a great page for rainfall total and river gauges.

https://hydromet.lcra.org/#

Was wondering if another agency has the same for rivers eastward.

Got around 6" in my gauge in East Austin yesterday, but honestly I lost track of the total; emptied it a few times. A lot more than Mabry got. Lake Travis up 18' and Buchanan up 8'. More rain this morning out west, toward Mason area. San Saba (town) was under major flood stage for a long time, lower now, but I see forecast is for another rise soon but not to major flood stage.
