Latest ETA MOS guidance has cooled significantly for next week. It now shows highs in the LOWER 60s for our area on Tuesday and Wednesday with overcast skies and a chance of rain. We will now have to wait and see if the 00z GFS MOS guidance agrees. If so, then we may need to completely rethink our current forecast for the next 72-96 hours. It will be very interesting to see what the NWS decides to do with the numbers tomorrow morning.

Front has passed through Austin. They went from 73˚ to 61˚ in just one hour and their dewpoint also fell from from 67˚ to 54˚. Winds in the city are gusting to near 30mph. The front also passed through Waco a bit earlier and they went from 72˚ to 57˚ in two hours with a period of 40mph gusts as the front passed over.

This is one of those fronts that go south more quickly than it goes east. Because of this, it has already passed through San Antonio. Here is what happened there: They went from 75˚ with a 72˚ dewpoint at 3:53am all the way down to 55˚ with a 52˚ dewpoint at 5:53am. They are also now getting heavy rain and wind gusts to 35mph. Brrr...

I also just recieved a report that the front has passed through College station.

Buckle up Houstonians! We're next! :D

Front just hit the BC Dome All was quiet: not a puff of wind and only a little drizzle. Now the leaves are flying off the trees - sideways.

came thru the Galleria area aboout 5 minutes ago. I was outside when it passed - went from almost dead calm to a refreshing gust out of the north. The temp drop was immediate.

The immediate drop is about 10 degrees, then more gradual after that. Decent for October but nothing at all unusual. We're just not used to it after so long.

Yep. 10 degrees. It went from no wind to blowing tremendously. Just went through the I45 South and Loop 610 South area (Hobby Airport)

I don't believe this. When I got up this morning it was 73 degrees. It is now 56. Looks like it dropped lower and faster than the weather boyz thought. Now, where can I get some firewood?

It's 63° at the KFDM weather station just to the north of me, and 82° at the one just south of me. :)
(probably no more than 10 miles between the two)

The wind is really picking up here, but still quite toasty.... should be any minute though.

And with that last sentence, here comes the rain. (sideways!)

Ahhh, I am going to love the cooler weather for a change.

Edit: 4 minutes later, it's 60° at the one north of me, and temps dropping quickly here. Wind gusts in the 40's.

It's still in the 80's in parts of Beaumont - I just think that is so kewl. lol
