Yeah seeing 100s showing up here(I think 95 is the hottest we've been) and then no end in sight to 95+ yeah I'm so not in the mood

You’ll be alright. I don’t think you work outside much if I remember correctly. You just do DoorDash right?

BTW, 2024 is also the 5th warmest year to-date on record for DFW (warmer than both 2022 and 2023 to-date), even with a January that was well below average.

February was a torch and since then it’s been consistently above average.

Really remarkable given how rainy it’s been, but not surprising when you consider overall trends. 2022-2024 will probably seem cool compared to what’s coming.

Highs approaching 100F each day and lows in the 80s. Where do I get off this train?

Not the hottest, but sustained heat somewhat after ATL side tropical activity? Typical...

Wake me up when September comes ...

Obviously having 2022 and 2023 occur back-to-back has set the bar unrealistically high, but even if it ends up less intense by comparison, it's still looking like this Summer will be another scorcher for North Texas relative to average.

Once this type of forthcoming pattern locks in, good luck getting it to break.

That’s brutal. It’s not that bad down here. Lows in the mid to upper 70’s with highs in the low to mid 90’s & a 20-40% chance of popups each day.

That's one thing that has been missing up here the last few years, popcorn storms late in the afternoon in May and June. Prolific rainmakers but would die out in 10 minutes. Seems it was just about every year they were on schedule until recently. I miss them.

A little off topic but it appears the Greenfield, IA tornado from 5/21 might be potentially the strongest tornado ever recorded, with most likely wind speed of 313 (!!) mph... Absolutely insane.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tornado_records

Yes I know this is Wikipedia but the DOW also posted this information on twitter.

Yeah and still only rated an EF4 lol.

I believe that rating has not been completely finalized, but yes, I’m skeptical that an DIs left to be added would justify an upgrade. The tornado peaked in strength before entering the town based on radar, and there’s probably not much out there

Reminds me of El Reno in 2013... Still a very sore subject for some people here. Same tornado that killed Twistex

I was checking the temp periodically and the highest I saw was 96. Guess I missed a reporting period. Today was my 50th b'day and we were out eating and drinking so that's not surprising. Made me realize I love checking weather even in the predictable summer months and even when I'm with a group of people. September anyone??
