Just outside of Santa Fe on the approach to Deception Peak. There was a lot more snow than I anticipated and I ended up having to turn back before the peak.

You think more of a shortwave? I was thinking its more of gulf moisture plowing into a layer of air with very low dewpoints. Almost like a dry line, which the mositure is riding over.

Another line of storms coming in from the gulf already.

Yeah, that new line of storms about to come onshore just popped up out of nowhere within the past hour. They’re really beginning to take off. Definitely has my attention.

It's changed directions now. Heading NE not N. Storms earlier were coming out of the SE, stalled, now are tracking NE.

I tried hiking in that area a few times in May and never again haha. Postholing to your thighs is not fun.

About to get wet near the airport and it is ahead of the rush hour timeframe from yesterday. Bring it.

Being ahead of schedule, does that change the severe parameters for this afternoon in DFW?

Even less. Two rounds this morning will work over the atmosphere and bring subsidence.

Looks like main line is weakening to the north but still a heavier batch currently held together so far on the way to DFW. I wonder if it will hold though...

Just another over hyped event. Went from enhanced risk to a few rain drops.

I only got .10 from that second round. The first round overnight was much stronger. There is some more yellow coming, but that is basically green in non-RadarScope color tables. Just light to moderate rain.

No offense intended to anyone here, but I think if it snows one foot in Austin, Dallas and Houston next winter, there will be complaints the very next day. :D

Lakes are full, wildflowers are blooming, no big killer tornadoes have ravaged the state, it hasn’t hit 100 yet in most of Texas, and no wildfires are raging anywhere.

Sounds like a good spring to me! As Joe Bastardi likes to say, enjoy the weather because it’s the only weather you’ve got.
