Yep, this is the last of the last gasps of winter. We'll have one cold day then a quick warm up to the 70s and 80s. The end of winter!

Actually tomorrow will be cold along with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I think if my math is right that would be 4 days, not 1.

Beautiful bowling ball on the nam and as expected, colder than globals.

It does and it looks even better than it’s previous run at 500mb. Cut off and slightly more separated from the northern stream this time.

NAM definitely indicating a much faster frontal boundary compared to globals (surprise surprise right) and as a result begins winter precip early Friday morning across W TX into Nothern HC (although GFS is close). Once again timing and trough placement is going to be key as mentioned earlier. 0z ICON was less bullish compared to earlier runs but still a few days before this all locks in. Euro and CMC have been the slowest. Still a lot to watch. NAM definitely would be the model to root for looking at the 0z run.

I think we probably all agree on a faster frontal boundary which is obviously the first domino that needs to drop. Trough looks + tilted to me so I wouldn't expect a snowstorm out of this as long as that remains, but hey a few inches would still be something to talk about no doubt in TX for the month of March as most schools/folks are headed into Spring Break vacation. Crazy.

The 06z model runs were a train wreck. Hopefully, things rebound here at 12z.

Yehh…the 12z NAM is practically dry. Not a great sign

The 12z ICON isn't terrible, has more moisture than the last couple of runs, but is warmer.
