Go Rangers!

In other news we hit 50 for the first time in 4 days. Quite a stretch for this early

But is it a good sign for winter remains to be seen  I'm still having nightmares about last winter :spam:

I pick the snow and cold weather. I honestly didn’t even know the rangers were in the World Series until now. I’m not a baseball fan.

I love baseball but I’d have to pick the snow and cold any dang day over the Rangers having any sort of success. That makes me want to vomit. Hardcore Houston sports fan here lol

Well the Rangers just won for the first time ever. Congrats to them and all the long suffering Ranger fans out there. Time for another beer.

The WS this year was between the Astros and Rangers. Diamondbacks weren’t much competition. Probably would’ve been more competitive if the Braves or Dodgers were playing instead of Dbacks.

Not to get too deep but I would agree. Astros lineup was much scarier than dbacks.

Exactly! Who in their lineup scares you the way Altuve or Alvarez does?

I'm just enjoying the moment and I can't believe it's over and we won.

In Boston for a journalism teacher convention. I wish the fall color was better. :(

Been delayed this year.

Such a strange year to be a Rangers fan. Compared to 2010-2011 when we had "Red October" and all of NTX was giddy about the success, this year kinda snuck up on everyone it seemed. As a long suffering Rangers fan it's great to have the burden of 50+ years without a championship off our backs, and exorcise the demons of Game 6 from 2011.

Agree that the ALCS was much more entertaining and competitive than the WS.

And give me a sports championship that lasts forever over a little winter precip that lasts 72 hours anytime. Rangers or any other team (including Houston franchises!).

I must agree with the above thoughts. The Rangers were the best team in the playoffs and the series and yes I definitely wanted another WS win for my Astros. Congratulation to the Texas Rangers.

29.5F this morning, with a heavy frost. Forgot to start my vehicle early to defrost this morning... :sadly:

Go Rangers! That was fun.

Arizona should have never been there. The more teams you add to the playoffs, the more likely it is that an unworthy team crashes the party.

Of course I might be miffed because the last time my Rays MacGyvered their way into the World Series, that was the year the Dodgers and their unlimited budget got there too. They had no chance.

Congrats to the rangers. I'm not a big baseball person, but i do like sports but certain ones. Nolan Ryan would be happy for sure! He was a great pitcher back in his day

I disagree that Arizona didn’t deserve to be there. They had to win 3 series against really good teams. They have a good team with an old school mentality they are fun to watch and will be in the conversation for years to come.

I meant they should not have been in the playoffs because of their regular season. They barely finished above .500 and at no point did they look like a contender. But baseball lets too many teams in the playoffs now, and there's so much variance in a short series that anyone can make a run. (Historicaly if you're the #1 seed, you're more likely to lose in the first round than you are to reach the World Series. Happened in both leagues again this year.) The problem is with the gatekeeping or lack thereof.

The past couple times the CPC forecast looked promising for rain in my area, I ended up getting nothing.

Btw, I agree with both of y’all above with the baseball stuff. Y’all both have valid points.
