It's storming here in Austin. Was awoken by a loud thunderclap and a good downpour.

I've gotten 0.5" and counting. Rain barrel topped off. First measurable rain in three weeks at the house. Still raining!:)

DFW ended up with just shy of 2" while Love got nearly 4.5"! Pretty big win for the 3k NAM, since a lot of runs showed the potential for a big rain event in the Friday to Saturday morning time frame. FWD was reluctant to go above 20/30% pops even yesterday afternoon as storms were sitting on the Red River since there was so much inconsistency across the CAMs.

FWD was 2.56" below normal for June before yesterday but now is just over 1/2" below normal and could very easily end the month above normal depending on how things play out this coming week.

If that bullseye can nudge a couple counties north what a flip that would be from the first half of the month :double:

CAMs are trending towards another batch of storms for DFW late tonight or early tomorrow morning. Two nights in a row?

Hoping the Saharan dust plume doesn't throw a wrench into the higher chances for rain next week.

EWX:

Will need to watch how the upper level pattern develops later in the week along with the progression of Saharan dust as it makes its way across the Atlantic. If this drier air is able to make it all the way to south central Texas by mid to late next week, it could have negative implications on forecasted rainfall.

Eastern stuff weaker after kicking outflow. Nice walking the dog. Hopefully it stays together.

The cool wind feels amazing. Wife and I are sipping coffee outside watching the clouds roll south. Cold beer and food will happen later. Happy Father's Day to all the Storm2k dads out there!!!

Loving the storminess in the Red River Valley and the rest of NTX.

In June/July/August you will take any kind of clouds or rain over hellishly hot. Also keeps ground moist enough that major heat waves struggle to set foot with feedback. Back in 2011 around this time we were coming off a week of 100+

Some cool mesoscale action as the outflow races south but the movement of the storms has started to shift eastward following the vortmax.

12z Euro backed off on the higher end totals but still looks good for The I35 Crowd

Looks like a third day in a row for a storm complex to move out of Oklahoma into North Texas. I'm liking this.
