Houston Flash Flood Warning

#1 Postby vbhoutex » Mon Aug 08, 2005 6:42 pm

until 9 pm. Storms have converged over the near northwest side of the city from 3 directions and are causing widespread street flooding , a lot of CG lightning, and some happy yards.

We have had 2"+ since 5:30 pm and it is still raining. Water is curb high in my area.

We're in the midst of a break right now in West Houston. We'll see how long that lasts.

We've had a break for about an hour now, but it has started to rain again. Don 't think it will be anything like earlier though. Now watching area to our WNW to be sure it isn't on its' way in.

Nah, don't think that area WNW of us will come here. It's building, but it isn't moving much.

It did pass us by to the NW as it was dissapating, thank goodness. We didn't need anymore last night after the 2"+ in about one hour. Hopefully we won't have the repeat they are expecting today.

I didn't get that much rain at my house yesterday but the lightning was intense! Right when I got home from work the bolts were cracking all around me. I quickly turned off the computer because the bolts were just that close, thought it was the war of worlds or something  . The strangest thing about it is the sky remained very bright during the whole storm. Looks like a repeat of yesterday today and then things will start heating up and drying out for the rest of the week.
