A large 1/4 mile wide tornado produced significant damage just east of the Girard area east of highway 57. One family even was in the path of the tornado and their horse died, their barn was completely destroyed, but the family escaped unharmed.
Just one out of many stories we'll be hearing as the night progresses. Hopefully there are no fatalities from this. To have very few fatalities would be unbelieveable given the strength of thee tornadoes which were at least f3-f5 strength. Got to credit jim cantore and greg forbes for getting the word out 3 days in advance. They deserve the credit BIG TIME. I'm the messenger. Overall, a very well forecast in advance.
