PDS TORNADO WATCHES

#1 Postby WXBUFFJIM » Sun May 04, 2003 1:02 pm

A very serious situation for east central Kansas and northeast Oklahoma. A PDS watch and potentially a deadly situation. PDS stands for particularly dangerous situation. Destructive tornadoes are likely in this situation. 3 PDS watches, one in north central and northeast KS, another in northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas, and the third in the KS City area and in western Missouri as well.

2000 to 2500 j/kg CAPE, deep layered shear, steep lapse rates, and backing of the winds -the ingredients are coming together for a large severe weather outbreak.
