SEVERE WX threats.

#1 Postby WXBUFFJIM » Sat May 03, 2003 1:40 pm

Severe weather threats including a tornado warning in Mobile County, Alabama right now. Golfball hail has occurred in northwest Mobile County not too long ago. So even outside that possible tornado, severe hail is occurring in the Mobile County area.

Expect strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening from north Texas through Oklahoma and Arkansas. Large hail to golfball size and isolated tornadoes are the main threats along the warm front. Even Kansas City and St Louis could see some sctd hailstorms later tonight into early Sunday.

On Sunday, a disturbance plows into the central Plains. A strong cold front plows into the midwest and southern plains. Very large hail, damaging winds, and strong/potentially violent tornadoes are likely tomorrow in the midwest and southern plains. Cities in the path of this include Des Moines, the quad cities, St Louis, Springfield, Little Rock, Fort Smith, and Dallas.
