Possible SVR Outbreak today around KC Metro

#1 Postby Windy » Thu Apr 21, 2005 11:24 am

If you live near Kansas City, keep your ear to the WX radio, as it looks as if there may be a severe weather outbreak in NE Kansas and NW Missouri today. Things seem to be coming together really well for NE Kansas.

I'm a bit worried about Kansas City, given the population density of the very real possibility of a tornado in the area today.

Keep safe down there! The tornado watch is one county west of my area.

Been there, done that. 5/4/03.

I am glad that I'm not in that area at the moment (in Pittsburgh), but I'm going to keep a nervous eye on various websites this afternoon as this develops.

Aye. Watching it right now with SwiftWX. Nice utility, if you don't mind the price tag. Noticed a couple of TVS's up near Platte City/Weston earlier.

Well, it was up between St. Joesph and Kansas City. Need to see how the airport faired. My car was parked outdoors up there and there were reports of 2" hail. Fun fun.
