Well I missed the bus to North Carolina...

#1 Postby Amanzi » Mon Jan 27, 2003 12:40 pm

I was surposed to go to North Carolina to see the snow, and I missed that bus last week  Now I am going to try plan my trip to co-incide with falling snow! My husband is adamant that I will not be able to get this right! I told him I know a few fantastic forecasters (DONT LET ME DOWN GUYS!) So help me out here, what are models saying, or what are your thoughts about possible snowfall for Begining to Mid Feb, for the Mountains of North Carolina?

Sorry.. I can hardly forecast snow here, over the Alps, then I guess that
forecasting snow in North Carolina is well beyond my capacities...
Currently there's a HI press center over the area, then according to me
disturbances should rotate around it. What about a good w/e full of rain?

Ciao
Paolo

I don't know if you've tried it but you can set your "City Code" to Boone, NC and watch the 5-day forecast :D

It's not looking good for the next five days with the lows hovering around freezing. Good Luck on getting to the snow! If you decide to hop a plane for the Alps, I'll volunteer to carry the bags

8) thanks for the link MF, some nice things for me to look at. No it is not looking good for me. There was some chance of snow on Saturday, but the warm air looks to be intruding. I just have to keep hoping that the cold will dig in a bit, just long enough for the rain to turn over to snow, even if it is just for 5 mins. I just hope the high temps dont go up anymore than they already have! Anyway I will post some pics when I get back on Sunday. Thanks again for the link
