Thunder and Lightning
If you can hear thunder, you can be struck by lightning even if the sky is clear. a A few years ago a bolt of lightning struck and killed a person on a NJ beach; the sky was clear at the time. The thunderstorm producing the lightning was several miles offshore. Also after a thunderstorm passes many folks are lulled into a false sense of safety. The period immedialtely following the brunt of the storm is the most dangerous IMO. The one time I nearly got struck was after the storm passed. Remember if you are out in the open and can hear thunder, take cover right away!
