Nocturnal LLJ

#1 Postby michaelwmoss » Thu Mar 25, 2004 7:09 am

For some reason it seems, particulary during the summer, that the LLJ Strengthens at Night for some reason. This usually has to do with Elevated Activity and/or a warm frontal boundary

Does anyone here know exactly why this is? No particular reason?

Explains it very well.

Nocturnal LLJ won't bring you that strong low level wind field all the time but wind speeds could reach up to 45KTS.......if you want a major severe outbreak that would due,,,, but better off with a cyclone induced LLJ for safe bet.
