Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I am a poster to the hurricane message board and thought I would jump in here and see what was going on as well.. I live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia and my name is Jesse Bass... I have been chasing severe weather now going on 4 years. We don't get much around here in the way of tornados, once in a while, so start with lightning photography.. Since that time, I have become a member of the Hurricane Intercept Research Team founded by Mark Sudduth of http://www.hurricanetrack.com .... I have a site myself and the link will be posted below. Stop by and sign the guestbook near the bottom of the home page... I will be checking i from time to time, certainly when severe weather is likely.. Look forward to reading the great posts and discussions here in the future....
Also, looking back at a few of the posts, the tornado warning for Sunbury, NC this past Sunday night was determined to be a "sheriff-nado" .. Bill Sammler the skywarn corrdinator in Wakefield said that any damage was caused by straight line winds... There was no evidence of a tornado... Figured I would let you know, if you didnt already... I was out on that night and was in souther Chesapeake.. Saw power flashes from the direction of the reported tornado, and went south to see if I could come across any damage... I never made it that far south before just turning around and heading home...

good to see you here Jesse
I'm Jim and live up the road a bit in central Maryland. I live near the Chesapeake Bay and with that in mind, alot of wild things have occurred over the past year from Isabel to PD 2003. One of the more recent storms I looked at was just last Saturday March 6th when a 55 mph thunderstorm wind gust occurred. It was a wet microburst as the straightline winds were accompanied by heavy rain squalls. This same storm on March 6th also resulted in the water taxi capsize at Baltimore's Inner Harbor at Fort Mchenry. I don't live that far from Fort Mchenry, just 5-6 miles east of there.
