When I got to work this morning NBC5 news was on the TV and when I saw the 10 day pop up I realized I haven't purposely watched a local weather report in weeks and that never happens. What's the point? Same s@#t different day.

I don't even know why they bother going 10 days out here

And there's several prominent ones in this state who purposely exaggerate something there....like I'm over it too. The number of times it shows a drastic temperature change with "watching"

It's all about the likes and false hope

and then you wonder why nobody trusts the meteorologists

I mean I pretty much have stopped watching TV but even online I've started unfollowing some of them already this year and it's probably gonna increase with winter hopefully coming

Its been a very eye opening year to me on a lot of fronts to say the least

This is exactly why im trying to go into the winter with no expectations. If it snows great but it's way too time consuming to worry about otherwise when most of the time if its hyped up here it falls apart anyway

I literally sent my mom a screen shot of the 7 day NWS forecast here, and told her that's so she can quit asking me about the weather here every day we talk on the phone.

Not to pour salt on the wounds and rub it in, but they're (Detroit) getting the fall weather you all would adore (temps in the 60s and low 70s), lol...

Same it rained like 20 drops here last night but didn't even wash my car

We're gonna be in bad shape if we don't get some real rain before winter because at least up here winter is always dry

Yeah think we get a whiff of closer to 'average' maybe a few cool nights in the 50s in about 7-10 days, natural climo will help.

Well see. I hate it's over a week away but it's been consistent and i mean the calendar is gonna have to win sooner or later

I can't believe I'm excited about 70s for highs but it's been ugly

Checked the 12z runs and at least they show stuff happening. Whether it can get this far south is another matter.

I miss Kansas during fall…lol. Even with the warmth they have had some fronts.

Upper level ridging will continue to keep benign but warm weather
in place through the upcoming week. As a result, no rain chances
are currently forecast through at least the first part of next
weekend, and high temperatures will remain 10-15 degrees above
normal each day. Morning lows will be in the upper 50s to upper
60s with afternoon highs in the mid 80s to low 90s.

There is a fairly decent signal in ensemble guidance that rain
chances could return to the forecast during the second half of
next weekend or early the following week. This could be
accompanied by some cooler temperatures, but there is still
significant spread among ensemble members, given this is 8-10 days out. Stay tuned (and keep your fingers crossed)!

Hope we get rain in the next few weeks , but ive lost any optimism about any cooler air this month, ensembles should nothing but a stagnant + EPO aleutian trough pattern going into early november , i literally am disgusted by what im seeing in the models

Larry Cosgrove is not optimistic about any cold even cool weather any times soon. The exact quote was " The heat ridge in Texas may weaken and get suppressed southward next weekend. And then likely rebound in the 11-15 day range."

And zero tropical "situation" landfalls.

Yeah even this hyped up front next weekend we're still above normal right now

I mean it's better than today but that ain't saying much

I dunno blaming the Atlantic can only go so far when nothing even made landfall
