Summer is over as far as dewpoints if GFS is right, 60s and even some 50s. We do get to the 70s for the GFS fantasy range hurricane that follows an improbable path to get near Cameron, Louisiana.

It pains me to say it, but we might not be done with the 100s yet. But I guess we can't complain too much since our summer wasn't too bad this year.

Supposed to be in the lower 90s today, hottest in 3 weeks

Don't say that often coming out of August

Winter 2020-2021 :cold:

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

Never say Never with weather! Because ANYTHING is possible!

I had a feeling summer wasn't over

What was amazing to me was how many Septembers I looked at and they all had a heat wave at some point

But I mean we've been so lucky this summer... Heck even this year.... And time is ticking

If you're a meteorologists in central Texas you could be taking 2 weeks off and nobody would notice.

We're going to have very little variation; clear to partly cloudy, 95-71, no rain, for that period. Kind of concerning since September is one of the wetter months.

Maybe it's just me but it's not hitting like it was in the first half of August so far. Plus the days are rapidly getting shorter now

You know it's gonna be over soon. I still think it's been about the most amazing summer we can have here

There's enough "model noise" now that its worth mentioning that a wetter pattern may arrive for the northern portions of the state starting around the end of the week. The CPC agrees.

Reasonably wet summer without a hurricane, solid A grade. Winter needs to get just cold enough (light freezes are ok) to support two different weekday winter weather events that let me stay home. That would be an A+

I think regardless of how this year finishes out this is probably one of the best weather years we'll ever see here. I mean we had above average snowfall in the winter for once its been very wet and we only hit 100 twice. The only negative was probably the fires in March which were ridiculous but seem even crazier now given the flip right after

It doesn't get much better than that here

And it does look like we're going back to a more unsettled pattern after Wednesday. Heck even today there's been rain around us. There's been very few days this summer where there was no rain for hundreds of miles like a normal summer and here we are its about over for good
