looks like the initial effects of the storm have passed. Now its just a sideways rain. We are under a severe t-strom warning here in raleigh. Durham had a tornado warning!!!!. The straight line winds were amazing. Thanks for the great maps and such rob.

No problem JQ....just hope you guys get past this event....its moving fast but with it has some high winds of course, and some tornadoes north and NW of your area....next 2 hours should calm it down much more than what you're seeing at the moment.

Yup it is a quick mover. The skies have lightened up a bit and the darker clouds are now to our east. The rain has let up as well. G-boro and winston salem are in flood watches and there is still a large blob of rain to come thru so i wouldn't be surprised if we get in on some of that flooding as well?!?!

I wouldnt doubt it...seems like NWS has issued almost a FFW just after this wall of water passes....real juicy and really flying forward.

Reports have come in that show it was raining 5" an hour! It didn't rain for an hour, but still - that's quite a bit of water. My front yard looks like a mud puddle, from the last ice event, and now this.. Don't know if it will ever recover. :(
