HOT...HOT...HOT!

#1 Postby weatherwunder » Sat Jul 05, 2003 2:08 pm

It is 100 degrees here right now, with a heat index of 104 degrees. Looking like a change of T-Storms this afternoon.

Thank goodness for air conditioning.

Update on the heat and humidity!

Thunderstorms will likely move through Seward then toward Lincoln and Crete through 330 PM. The stronger storms will produce hail and frequent lightning.

We had quite a line of severe storms passing just to the south of my area... :( We got some of the rain but it at least cooled it down a bit. ;)

Tomorrow should be in the 90s once again... and a chance of some afternoon storms. I second that... Thank Goodness for Air Conditioning!

Blistering heat around the nation's midsection....yet here in the deep south, it's unusually cool. The afternoon high temp here only topped out at 79.2°....but it's a steambath with dewpoints in the lower 70's. The highest temp so far this summer has only reached 88° (87.6°)....unusually mild and wet.

Currently it's 72° with 96% humidity, and a 71° dewpoint at my home west of Atlanta.

Likely that the heat will continue in the Great Plains ... with triple-digit heat possible once again in those same regions ...

It is very noteworthy, if the information is correct that both Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA have not had a 90º day yet this season ...

Perry can likely help me out on Atlanta, GA.

It hasn't been TOO hot in the deep south yet but they're forecasting mid 90's next week for south louisiana so it will be coming!
