Not looking encouraging for the Southeast....also, is this harbinger of a bad fire season in florida this Spring?

Hopefully that won't verify. So far this winter, while we haven't been getting absolutely drenched by any stretch, we haven't been bone-dry, either.

No surprise for us here in Texas. Usually when we get done with a record breaking wet year, we usually do the drought thing for a couple of years or so. Next summer should be OK as far as avoiding water rationing, etc. But if we go into a cycle like the Mid 90's, yuck!!!

My bigger concern is IF the upcoming Arctic blast hits Texas is the danger of wildfire. The brush is pretty dense in alot of places thanks to the wet summer. A killing freeze would make it perfect for fuel for a fire if we don't get alot of moisture.

The "persist" and "develop" areas in southeast Mississippi extend further west than indicated. We are getting rains but our lakes are low. Harbor Lake (Estates).....near Brookhaven is down 12 feet.

The SE looks like it will still be in a drought. Doesn't look good there.
