How much rain did you get in the drought areas.

#1 Postby Tstormwatcher » Sat Oct 27, 2007 6:40 pm

This past week was a wet one for the southeast finally. So how much rain did you get for this storm?
We ended up with 3.48 inches from 5 days of rain.

About 2.5" over the last 3 days or so.

Just an example:

Raleigh NC got:
1.72 inches on Oct 24 ** a new daily record,
0.08 inches on Oct 25
2.19 inches on Oct 26 ** a new daily record,
0.37 inches on Oct 27

that was over 4 inches over 4 days, well needed.

Back home in VA my rain gauge measured 3.90" over the four-day period . . . not bad at all, I just hope it helped with the water levels . . . I've seen pictures of what has happened and that state of some of these bodies of water is absolutely horrible.

From Monday through Wednesday, I measured 5 1/4" rain in my back yard. It sure
did make the lawns look greener, but it definitely wasn't enough to lift any water
restrictions here. Still, THANK THE GOOD LORD for what we did get!

AMEN to that!

I was thrilled to see all of the rain that the SE received and it came over a period of a few days, not all at once.

I just hope that the weather pattern is changing for you.

Like Cat 5 said, I received about 2.5" of rain, if not a little more.

A lot of the rain was localized here in Northern VA, but Reagan got SIX AND A HALF INCHES, which is almost double the average monthly rainfall. The streams are actually flowing again.
