Funnel Clouds Possible

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LAKE CHARLES LA
230 PM CDT SAT JUN 14 2003

...FUNNEL CLOUDS AND WATERSPOUTS POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING...

A MOIST TROPICAL AIRMASS AND RELATIVELY WEAK WINDS IN THE LOW TO MID
LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE ARE IN PLACE ACROSS THE AREA. UNDER THESE
CONDITIONS...SHORT-LIVED FUNNEL CLOUDS AND WATERSPOUTS WILL BE
POSSIBLE. FUNNEL CLOUDS AND WATERSPOUTS OFTEN FORM UNDER RAPIDLY
DEVELOPING CUMULUS CLOUDS WHERE SEABREEZE AND RAIN COOLED
BOUNDARIES...KNOWN AS OUTFLOW BOUNDARIES...COLLIDE.

THESE FUNNEL CLOUDS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE IF THEY TOUCH DOWN. ALSO...
WATERSPOUTS POSE A SERIOUS THREAT TO MARINERS AND CAN CAPSIZE A
SMALL CRAFT.

STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO..COMMERCIAL TELEVISION OR RADIO
FOR LATER STATEMENTS. ADDITIONAL WEATHER INFORMATION CAN ALSO BE
OBTAINED THROUGH OUR HOME PAGE AT http://WWW.SRH.NOAA.GOV/LCH.

Looks like we need to be on the lookout for possible funnel clouds. And by the way, I've recorded around 9.25" of rain so far this month. With good chances for the next several days. It feels like its turning into a rainforest down here!

Well I didn't see any funnel clouds but we had some pretty strong thunderstorms earlier that dropped about 1.25" of rain. I've lost track with all the rain but we're probably over 10 inches at my house for June. Now thats what I call mother nature making up for lost time!

Add that total to the total you said in your other post. ;) It's impossible to lose track when you already said it! :D Looks like 10.30"
