Got some info regarding pools and sub-freezing weather, and what to do if the power goes out:
Maintain constant circulation while temps are at and below freezing. If the power goes out, you are supposed to open any valves that normally restrict water flow. Open any pressure relief valves. Pop or loosen the cap on the pump and open the chlorinator. That way the water can expand somewhere and won't burst your pipes.
Hope this helps someone - I recall a question about this being posted in the TX Winter thread and figured starting a new topic might catch more eyes since this current icing event is covering such a large area.
